Sarojini can now live in a safe and secure house, thanks to a group of youths who are part of a collective, ‘Yuvadhara’, in Kottuli. The elderly woman had been staying in a dilapidated house all alone after the death of her husband. With no children, she was surviving on the generosity of the local people.
Realizing the sad situation Sarojini was in, the Yuvadhara members had decided to renovate her house. Sarojini said that she could not even imagine moving to another place.
While the repair works were going on, Sarojini stayed at a shelter named ‘Home of Love’ in Kottuli.
The renovation is almost complete now. A house warming will be held at 3 pm on Sunday. Inmates of the Home of Love will take part in the function and offer warm wishes to Sarojini, said Yuvadhara secretary, Pramod Kottuli.
