The controversy over women of menstrual age entering the Sabarimala temple hogged the limelight again on Monday, after a brief interval, as protesters forced group of women from Tamil Nadu to abandon their plan to visit the shrine.
The police have registered an FIR against the eighteen Karma Samiti workers who stopped the women near Marakkoottam.
The group of women were halted at Sabarimala over age rumours.
In the incident, clash broke out between the police and Karma samiti workers. Ganesh, a native of Changanassery, was injured during the clash and is undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College.
Kerala has been witnessing massive protests by Lord Ayyappa devotees opposing the entry of girls and women of menstrual age into the Sabarimala temple since the government decided to implement the apex court order.
