Actor Vijay has been nominated for ‘Best Actor’ as well as ‘Best International Actor’ categories in the prestigious International Achievement Recognition Awards (IARA) for his performance in Mersal. He will be competing with the likes of John Boyega (Star Wars: Last Jedi), Jamie Lomas (Hollyoaks), Chris Atoh (Swings), David Tenant (Don Juan in Soah), Jack Parry Jones (Bang) Daniel Kaluuyaa (Get Out) and Zack Morris (EastEnders) for the honours.

Mersal directed by Atlee had Vijay essaying a triple role. Produced by Sri Thenandal Studios, the film’s mainstay was AR Rahman’s chartbuster songs and music. Reportedly, the gala event will be held on September 22 at the Canary Wharf in London. Meanwhile, there is buzz that Thalapathy will be teaming up with director Atlee for the third time after he completes Sarkar.
