Are you obsessed with the life of those who post their colourful life pictures in Instagram and Facebook?
Then, you are one among Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) types!!!.
If you are still thinking that all others are living better than you, that means you are haunted by the social media behaviour which might result in depression.
A recent study onr 500 millennials who actively use Facebook,Instagram,Snapchat and twitter Texas State University identified five key social media factors which result in MDD.
The social media people who constantly compare and worry their life with others will be affected much by the MDD problems more.
The five highlight symptoms those who have this problem includes
1.You score highly on the Social Media Addiction scale (ie you spend a lot of time thinking about social media and feel urges to use it).
2.You compare yourself to other people who are ‘doing better than you’ on social media
3.You are bothered when people tag you in unflattering picture
4.You don’t often post pictures of yourself with other people
5. and finally,if you don’t have many followers.
‘However,some changes could include reducing the time spent on social media, unfollowing individuals or groups that cause distress, or limiting online social comparisons.’suggests Dr. Krista Howard, of Texas State University.
