The teaser of the movie ‘John, biopic of the legendary Malayalam filmmaker John Abraham, was released on May 31. The movie directed by Prem Chand will be a tribute to the avant-garde filmmaker who fearlessly called himself the ‘Hitler’ of cinema.
John’s dedication for the cinematic art form and his unique attitude had made him stand apart from other film personalities. The teaser of ‘John’ was released on the 31st death anniversary of the veteran director who is considered as one of the greatest Indian filmmakers.
The movie, penned by Prem Chand’s wife and noted screenwriter Deedhi Damodaran, reportedly is about the immense popularity enjoyed by John’s films among the Malayali audience even today.
‘John’ is produced by Prem Chand’s daughter Mukta for the banner of Papathy Movements. The movie, which was shot at the various locations around Kozhikode and Kottayam, also features the friends and colleagues of the ace director.
John who is known for his films such as ‘Amma Ariyan’, ‘Agraharathil Kazhuthai’ and ‘Vidyarthikale Ithile Ithile,’ was also a short-story writer.
