Tamil Nadu government staff to donate a day’s salary to CM’s relief fund
People from Tamil Nadu is extending helping hand to the flood-hit Kerala again. Government staffs in the state under the banner of TN Government Employees’ Association (TNGEA) donated 4,000 kg of rice, essential drugs, dresses for children, bed sheets, saris and jackets to Kerala.
All government employees of Tamil Nadu were also donating a day’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF), which would come to approximately Rs 200 crore, The Hindu reports TNGEA State secretary, C. R. Rajkumar as saying.
TNGEA member who visited the relief materials collection centre at Nishagandhi during the weekend were welcomed with sweets by Haritha S. Kumar.
On Sunday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to Facebook to urge Malayalis across the globe to consider donating their one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
