India has asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and is strictly internal to the nation in the Islamic conclave by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation(OIC) in Abu Dhabi.
“As regards the resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir, our stand is consistent and well known. We reaffirm that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India and is a matter strictly internal to India,” spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Raveesh Kumar said to a resolution on the matter by the conclave.
“In a resolution, the OIC member states reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir remains the core dispute between Pakistan and India and its resolution is indispensable for the dream for peace in South Asia,” the conclave claimed.
The OIC having 57 nations as members, and most of them support Pakistan on Kashmir issue.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushama Swaraj on Friday attended the inaugural meeting of the OIC,for the first time as the chief guest.It was the first time India participating in OIC conclave.
The conclave also showed deep concern for the alleged human rights violations in Kashmir.
