Kerala police on Monday morning recorded the statement of Kozhikode MP and UDF candidate M K Raghavan on the alleged bribery case.
A team led by DCP P Vahid around 7.00 am reached MP’s residence and heard his version. Raghavan has reiterated his position that the video is altered. “I have told police everything. Let the judiciary and people’s court decide things,” he told media persons.
Raghavan had earlier filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner seeking enquiry into the alleged conspiracy behind the sting operation by the TV9 Bharatvarsh channel.
The channel has informed media that they have handed over the original footages. Their sting operation ‘revealed’ that Raghavan had spent around Rs 2 crores in the previous election while he told ECI that he spent just Rs 52 lakh. The video also showed him agreeing to accept Rs 5 crore from the ‘businessmen’.
The police will record the statements of the editor and reporter of TV9.
