Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday announced a flagship project for the ‘minimum income guarantee scheme’ for the poor.
He remained tight-lipped about his candidature from Wayanad constituency in Kerala as the party president maintained that he will not speak about anything else in the press conference.
20% of the Indian population will benefit from the scheme, Rahul said. 25 crore people in 5 crore families will get Rs 6000 to Rs 12000 per month. The “economic repercussions” are studies and it is doable, Rahul asserted.
As Rahul refused to reply to the questions on his ‘second seat’, the wait for the announcement on whether he will contest from south India or not will continue.
