Shinraj was concerned when his classmate Priyanth was absent in class for one week continuously. Priyanth had told him that his mother was ill and was under treatment. Shinraj tried to contact him on phone, but his efforts were in vain. Thus he decided to pay a visit to Priyanth’s house in Muzhappilangad.
Shinraj found that his friend Priyanth, a student of class 12, and his younger brother Prasanth, a class 7 student, were living in a damaged small house. Priyanth’s mother had died due to illness even after spending months in a hospital in Kozhikode. Their father had died years ago.
Shinraj’s mother Shajitha also had accompanied him to Priyanth’s house. She took care of Priyanth and did all the household chores. But when they were about to return, Shinraj was adamant about taking both Priyanth and Prasanth with them. His mother agreed to it, but the children were hesitant.
After two days, Shinraj, his mother Shajitha and father N. T. Raju came to Priyanth’s house again and invited them to their house. Thus Priyanth and Prasanth left their house to Shinjith’s house at Neerkkadavu in Azhikode.
Now there are six members in their house. Raju works as a fisherman. Their house is also a small one and is owned by their grandmother. When the two brothers, Priyanth and Prasanth arrived there, the grandmother shifted to her younger daughter’s house nearby to make room for them.
Rajesh Warrier, a teacher of Azhikode High School and a social worker and health inspector K. T. Bindu are helping Shinraj’s family to meet the expenses for Priyanth and Prasanth.
Both Shinraj and Priyanth are good at studies. Shinraj had scored A Plus grade in all subjects in SSLC exam and Priyanth scored A Plus grade in eight subjects. Shinraj’s ambition is to become an IAS officer and Priyanth wants to be an engineer.
Many people have come forward to sponsor Priyanth and Prasanth. An account has been opened in Canara Bank Azhikode south branch in the name of A. Priyanth.
