Pinarayi Vijayan Slams union minister Piyush Goyal on Kanjikode Coach Factory row
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday slammed union minister Piyush Goyal following the row over Kanjikode coach factory project in Palakkad.
“The minister had said the project is not cancelled. It is not enough. He should take initiative to establish the coach factory,” said the chief minister.
He was responding to the criticism raised by union minister Piyush Goyal.
In a statement, Piyush Goyal alleged that the state government is not cooperating with the railway development.
However, Pinarayi Vijayan noted that the government took all efforts to resolve this misunderstanding. He pointed out that the ministry of railways is purposefully blaming Kerala.
“Land acquisition for the project in Kerala is under progress. A union minister should not bluff anything about anyone in public. He should realize the facts. Compared to former governments, the present LDF government is efficient in land acquisition,” said chief minister.
The government is smoothly carrying out the land acquisition process with the railway. The Chief Minister informed that he will write a letter to Piyush Goyal by noting the fact.
Meanwhile, Public Works Department Minister G Sudhakaran also criticized Piyush Goyal on his remarks against Kerala.
“The union minister asked whether Kerala needs to construct railway track on sky. Such a question should not be raised to Kerala,” said Sudhakaran to media.
“We are ready to acquire land for the project and have taken concrete steps towards this. The Union Minister has shown an arrogant attitude towards Kerala. He should remember that Kerala is not Utopia,” he added.
He also noted that there is nothing unusual in the VS Achudanandan’s visit.
