A passenger onboard flight 6E-947 from Ahmedabad to Goa on IndiGo flight was nabbed for smoking in the lavatory of the aircraft. The incident took place on Christmas. On observing, the crew informed the Captain and the flight attendants warned him on smoking. Inflight smoking is an illegal offence under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
After the flight landed at Goa airport, the matter was brought to the notice of the local police station. An FIR was filed against the passenger, who was then handed over to the CISF.
Last week, a passenger on board a Vistara flight was dropped in Delhi on Friday (December 21) after he insisted on smoking inside the cabin. The Vistara flight UK 707 on the Delhi-Amritsar route was delayed by over three hours due to this incident.
