Notably, the same picture is being circulated on the social media saying that this is an Indian MiG fighter. However, multiple IAF sources confirm that this is the wreckage of the Pakistani F-16 jet downed yesterday.
Three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) F-16 fighter jets had last morning violated the Indian airspace in Poonch and Nowshera sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, but were pushed back by the Indian side.
However, the captive IAF personnel will be released as tension de-escalates between India and Pakistan, diplomatic sources told the media.
In the meantime, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard are on high alert along the coastline of Maharashtra and Gujarat and increased the number of patrolling vessels.
