Bharatiya Janata Party did not announce their candidate to the Pathanamthitta constituency in Kerala in their second list as well, which was released on Friday night.
The latest release had the names candidates for few constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Assam states.
The imbroglio over Pathanamthitta ticket was reportedly sorted out when the national leadership asked state president P Sreedharan Pillai to stay away from the election fray. However, few other reports suggested that BJP is looking to field a ‘surprise candidate’ there. ‘Desabhimani’ daily on Saturday reported that BJP is in touch with former Rajya Sabha deputy speaker P J Kurian. He is a veteran Congress leader. Pillai also had maintained that several Congress leaders will join BJP soon.
Thiruvananthapuram candidate Kummanam Rajasekharan on Thursday had refused the possibility of ‘surprise candidate’.
