Neuer, who was named in Germany’s FIFA World Cup squad earlier in May, had been out injured since September but resumed training in April. He was on the bench for Bayern during their 3-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup final on May 19.
“As things stand, Manuel Neuer will play on Saturday. Those are the games that he needs right now,” Kopke said as quoted by the team’s official Twitter account.
Neuer, who is 32 and has been capped for his country 74 times, won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany as well as the Golden Glove award for being the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Russia’s first-ever FIFA World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 at 12 arenas in 11 cities across the country, with Germany facing Mexico, Sweden and South Korea in Group F.
