Kochi, Munambam human trafficking takes another turn as the boat sails towards New Zealand shutting down the speculations that,it sails towards Australia and Africa.
Police forces confirmed that a group of 230 people,including women and children is moving towards New Zealand.The team captain Srikanth and middleman Ravindran are also in the boat “Daya Matha”,sailing towards New Zealand.
Police had recently arrested a person who is said to be the co-owner of the boat that was used for trafficking.The probe began after local residents informed the police about some abandoned bags that they had found in Cherai and Munambam areas. This led to the probe into the suspected trafficking of around 40 non-Keralites in the vessel to Australia from Ernakulam.The 230 member group 80 Sri Lankan natives and rest from Delhi.
The group moved to cross the sea after gathering at Munambam and earlier they stayed at different places like Guruvayoor,Kodungalloor,Chottanikkara.
The arbitrators has offered each one an assured job of Rs 3 lakh salary and collected Rs 1.5 lakh per head for the journey.
