The BSP leader Mayawati on Thursday charged Narendra Modi for violating Model code of Conduct.
She alleged that Modi addressed the nation after the successful testing of A-SAT missile on Wednesday,and that was against the Model Code of Conduct.
“Previous experiences proves that like law and order,BJP leaders are habitual offenders in violating Model Code of Conduct.PM Modi again flouted poll norms by addressing the country without prior permission of EC though there was no such emergency.Hope the EC act promptly,”she tweeted.
“The EC has formed a committee to examine the content of PM’s address yesterday but the real issue is why and how the PM addressed the country without its prior permission.It is the gross misuse of power and machinery for the electoral benefits.EC must act in exemplary manner,”she said in another tweet.
The poll body on Wednesday formed a panel to examine the complaints from political parties against the violation of Model Code of Conduct.
On Wednesday,The Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) successfully tested India’s first anti-satellite weapon,A-SAT from Balasore in Odisha and Modi glorified it as India’s turning point to becoming a space power after US,Russia and China.
The A-SAT is space weapon used to destroy satellites for strategic military purposes.
