In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, a 20-year-old man was killed allegedly by his friend who wanted to ‘take revenge’ for being beaten up by him three years ago. The incident happened in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar here on Friday.
According to the news agency PTI the deceased was identified as Sanoj, a resident of Sangam Vihar and the accused was named 22-year-old Akash. Reportedly, the police investigation revealed that three years ago Akash was beaten up by Sanoj when he asked him to return Rs 1,000 that he had borrowed.
No police complaint was lodged then and the matter was settled after Akash received monetary help for his treatment. The PTI report mentioned that both of them were addicted to drugs and have previous criminal involvements.
Meanwhile, the police officials told the agency on Thursday the police was informed that Akash had killed a man in the forest after which he was detained.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (south), Vinay Kumar told the agency that during interrogation Akash confessed the offense and also took police team to the scene of crime where he killed Sanoj. He also mentioned that after killing him he also mutilated his body with the help of a pointed stone and stuffed the body parts into a gunny bag and buried in the forest.
The body was recovered by the police and Akash further told police that three years ago, Sanoj had beaten him following he wanted to take revenge. However, the police have registered a case against the accused and he has been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code.
