All long distance services of KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) along national and state high ways have been restored. The move came soon after the floods on the roads subsided. However, heavy rush is experienced in the long distance buses, including the buses that start from Thrissur. Buses started journey tightly packed with passengers.
The traffic through national highway and MC Road were disrupted completely following the flood. Thus KSRTC also was compelled to stop services. Traffic was disrupted after Edappally-Mannuthi road including the toll plaza were submerged in water.
National highway was flooded in many places including Chalakudy and Aluva. Kalady and Panthalam regions along MC Road also were under water. The flood on roads had subsided the other day clearing the traffic block in the route.
Only the vehicles of rescue teams were allowed to pass through the route in the initial phase. The traffic was restored when the situation improved gradually. The rail traffic also was restored to the relief of the passengers. However, many train services are cancelled fully or partially.
