Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Rejects media reports on CPIM’s Ramayana Month Observance
CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Wednesday dismissed the media reports on CPIM’s plans to observe Ramayana Month. In a press release, Kodiyeri declared that the news is baseless.
“RSS has been misusing ‘Ramayana’ month to promote communalism for their political gains. Sanskrit group (samskritha sangham) formed by Sanskrit scholars and teachers will organise programmes to counter such moves which distort epics,” he said in the press note.
He noted that the Sanskrit group does not come under the CPIM and it is an independent association.
“I think the Sanskrit group does not aim to conduct Ramayana reading in the month of Karkidakam as part of their programmes,” he added.
“The Sanskrit group does not aim to conduct programmes for the month of Karkidakam only. But some media is trying to defame CPIM using the programmes of the Sanskrit group,” he alleged.
