India expressed deep concerns through an official note to the Pakistan Foreign office over the abduction and forced conversion of two Hindu girls to Islam on Sunday.
India also asked for suitable remedial action from Pak government to protect and promote safety,security and welfare of its own citizens.
Express Tribune quoted the Hindu community leaders from the Daharki taluka of Ghotki district in Sindh claimed that two underage girls belonging to the scheduled caste community, were abducted by the people from Kobhar and Malik tribes on March 21.The brother of the two girls aged 13 and 15, alleged that the girls were “forcibly converted to Islam”.
The cases of increased abduction and conversion is now common in southern region of Sindh and Pakistan Human rights activists also claimed that this is another case of abduction.
A 2014 report from the Movement for Solidarity and Peace estimated that nearly 1,000 non-Muslim girls are getting converted to Islam every year.Reports state that girls between the ages of 12 and 25 are abducted ,made to convert to Islam,and then married to the abductor or an associate.According to the local Hindus,only the wealthy Muslim Zamindaars who are old,prey the young girls and women of poor Hindus.After abduction they keep the victims under custody and then rape them to ensure they will never go back to their families and then Maulvies convert them to Islam.
