BJP State General Secretary AN Radhakrishnan who was on an indefinite fast in front of the secretariat building since December 3, is shifted by police to the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram from the Secretariat on Monday.
The eight-day-old indefinite fast by AN Radhakrishnan started demanding the withdrawal of prohibitory orders around Sabarimala and various cases registered against party general secretary K Surendran over the Sabarimala protests. On Saturday was released from judicial custody.
Radhakrishnan was arrested and removed to the hospital as his condition worsened. Another senior leader C K Padmanabhan began an indefinite fast in front of the secretariat.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers took to the streets across the state, the party has called for a Thiruvananthapuram shutdown on Tuesday to protest against the police action.
