Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has made her way to the world’s top-10 highest earning women sportspersons, securing a seventh place.
According to the list, the Hyderabad athlete earns $ 8.5 million a year. While the 23-year-old clinched silver medals at the women’s singles events at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) and the BWF World Championships earlier this year, she made it to the semifinal of the prestigious All England Championships, losing to Akane Yamaguchi.
Interestingly, eight of the ten athletes in the list are tennis stars, with Sindhu and American racecar driver Danica Patrick being the only exceptions. Danica is placed ninth in the list.
Sindhu is currently taking part in the ongoing Asian Games, where she has just beaten Vu Thi Trang in the women’s singles to advance to the second round.
