Google remembers Sir Donald George Bradman on his 110th birthday with a doodle
Google is celebrating the 110th birth anniversary of the legendary Australian cricketer Sir Donald George Bradman with a doodle today. Sir Donald, who is better known as the ‘The Don’, is one of the finest and the greatest batsman in the history of cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar remembers Bradman on his birthday. “It’s been 20 years since I met the inspirational Sir #DonBradman but that special memory is so vivid. I still recall his amazing wit, warmth, and wisdom. Remembering him fondly today, on what would have been his 110th birthday,” Tendulkar tweets recalling the time spent with Bradman.
In today’s Doodle, Google features an animated Bradman playing a stroke. Bradman still holds the record of scoring the ‘Highest Individual Test Batting Average’ of 99.94. Interestingly, he is also the only Test batsman to score more than 5,000 runs. He scored 5,028 runs against England. He also scored 500 runs in around 7 times in a Test series — which is almost equal to the record of Brian Lara. These are some of its highest achievements.
