Four soldiers of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army (INA),will march on the Republic Day parade.One among the four is of 100-year-old,Bhagmel from Haryana, who had fought for INA in 1942.
“This would be the first time that the INA soldiers would take part in the Republic Day parade”,said the parade Deputy Commander, Major General Rajpal Poonia.
While asked about only incorporating four members,Mr.Poonia said that it was really difficult to find those who are still alive.The four members are having an age range of 97-100.
Founded in 942 by RAs Bihari Bose,INA lead many fierce battles against the British,but after Independence the government denied merging of INA Indian Army.
Along with the four senior freedom fighters,this time M-777 Howitzers and K-9 Vajras are also a part of the Republic Day Parade.
Moreover, the women wing will show their power this time,the Army Daredevil’s team is going to introduce their first women officer Captain Shikha Surabhi along with their’Daredevils motor cycle display team’.
