Former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur, who was dismissed from service in 2017 for complaining about the food served to the officers, is planning to contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi constituency.
Bahadur, who met several parties seeking their support, is contesting as an independent candidate. “No one extended support,” he said.
Though Modi seeks vote in the name of soldiers, he does nothing for them, alleges Bahadur. His candidature will dent the image of Modi especially when BJP plans to make national security a major election plank.
Bahadur was dismissed from the service after he complained about the food quality on social media.
