Ee Ma Yau review: Five reasons to watch Ee Ma Yau
The Malayalam film audiences have been eagerly waiting for watching Ee Ma Yau of the much-loved film-maker Lijo Jose Pellissery. The movie has won three awards at the Kerala State Film awards this year, including the best director award.
Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinayakan, starrer Ee Ma Yau which is one of the most anticipated movies of 2018, hit the theatres on Friday.

Lijo Jose Pellissery is back
The director Lijo Jose Pellisserry, is famous in the field for breaking new grounds with his unique style of cinematic experiences. The surrealistic Double Barrel, the magical realism of Amen, the plot of recent Angamali Diaries are examples. Through Ee Ma Yau he has added a new chapter on conceiving realism in cinema.
The dark humour in P F Mathew’s script
In P F Mathews script, dark humour is given a prominent presence throughout the story. The writer who is known for his realistic approach towards scripts, does justice to the script.
Convincing performance of actors
Actors have delivered some of their finest performances in Ee Ma Yau. Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Dileesh Pothen include the main cast of Ee Ma Yau. There is no surprise in Pauly Wilson who bagged the Kerala state award for the best-supporting actress in 2017 for Ee Ma Yau.
Shyju Khalid’s cinematography
Shyju Khalid’s camera is the real storyteller in Ee Ma Yau and it deserves a big applause. The wide angle shots catches the deepest emotions of characters in the movie.
Last not least, the technicians
Prasanth Pillai’s music and editing by Deepu and sound designing by Renganaath Ravee polish Ee Ma yau’s cinematic beauty. Ravee won the state award for best sound design for this film.
