Death threat over Facebook post, Kerala college lecturer files complaint against BJP workers
Deepa Nishanth, a writer and assistant professor of Sree Kerala Varma College in Thrissur, Kerala has lodged a police complaint against the death threats she received allegedly posted by BJP workers.
She reportedly submitted a screenshot of the threats that she received on Facebook to the police and also accused one BJP leader- TG Mohandas who is the convener of BJP’s intellectual cell of sharing her mobile number.
The BJP functionaries’ have allegedly issued the death threat to Deepa Nishanth on Facebook for demanding justice for the eight-year-old Kathua rape and murder victim.
“Attempts of threatening and shaming me has been going on in social media. TG Mohandas has posted my phone number and address on twitter which has created problems for me at a personal level,” NDTV reports quoting Deepa Nishanth’s police complaint. “I am told that false complaints have been filed against me at Thrissur police station. Social media groups with explicit content have been carrying my photographs and details, causing much damage to me. Now I am complaining because of death threats against me,” the lecturer added.
She also sought Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s help to track down the accused.
The BJP men have been allegedly targeting Deepa Nishanth since April 12, after she endorsed the view of a Bengaluru-based IT professional named Deepak Sankaranarayanan on Facebook. Deepa has shared a post on Facebook seeking justice for the Kathua victim.
