In a shocking case reported from Mumbai, a 12-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Nagpada area by hanging herself to utensil rack. The police is investigating the case.
According to a report by the news agency PTI, Senior Inspector Shirish Gaikwad of JJ Marg police station said, the girl was identified as Gulshan Mohammad Guddu Shah, who hanged herself with a dupatta on Friday night when nobody was at home.
Reportedly, the incident came to light when the victim’s uncle visited their home despite repeated knocks no one opened the door. He then rushed to Gulshan’s father’s shop nearby and when they opened the door. They found her hanging from a wall-mounted utensil rack, Gaikwad added. The PTI report mentioned, the girl was immediately rushed to a local hospital where authorities declared her dead on arrival.
The deceased was a Class 6 student and on Friday she had returned home with her siblings at around 9 pm. Meanwhile, the rest of the siblings went down to play after that but she was at home. However, the local police are investigating the case and an investigation is underway to find out the cause of death.
