The Chinese expedition on moon creates persistent results as their new attempt also went fruitful.China has become one of the first nations in the world which has successfully germinated seeds on a place other than Earth.
China’s Chang’e-4 probe successfully germinated seeds on the dark side of the Moon in a miniature, artificial biosphere, providing hope for the future of sustainable, long-distance manned space travel.

The Chang’e which made a soft landing on the moon’s far side on January 3, had carried a sealed container with biological matter. The sealed biological container also contained the artificial self sustained mini biosphere along with soil from Earth with cotton seeds,Arabidopsis (rockcress) seeds, potato seeds, yeast, and fruit fly eggs. The Chinese scientists opt the plants that can grow in a confined, tough environment so that they can survive in moon also.
NASA had stated that if the plants could survive up to 14 days, that would mean that plants can sprout in the “Moon’s radiation environment at one-sixth the gravity of Earth.” This experimental sprouting however, will be helpful in the survival theories and thereby testing the meiosis theory of sexual reproduction which indeed need 60 days of survival.
