The highly successful edu-tech startup Byju’s learning app will recruit 3500 employees to enhance the subscription base of the app.
A large part of the newly recruited sales team will focus on the kids segment of its business.
Recently Byju’s takeover the the US based Osmo,an education video production app for kids under 3 for $120 million.Now,the company is planning to expand its business to UK and US.
Byju’s founder Byju Raveendran believes the junior segment is more lucrative in the sense that the conversion rate is higher and as the FMCG firms do, ‘catch them young’ could be the policy. If the kids grow on the Byju’s apps when they are 3 to 8 years, it might become easier the sell them the app for the 9-17-year-olds.
The company has informed that it carried on the content creation in India only and since the language of the contents is English, it is used for the international markets as well.
