A bride from Bihar called-off her wedding after her husband-to-be showed up drunk. The wedding was taking place in Dumri Chapiya village in Bihar. The marriage was to take place on Saturday.
The bride decided to refuse to get married to the groom because he came to the marriage in an inebriated state. The bride was identified as Rinki Kumar and the groom was identified as Bablu Kumar.
The news agency, ANI reported the incident, the father of the bride alleged that the groom was so drunk that he had no understanding of his surroundings. He added that the groom behaved inappropriately with his daughter on the stage which prompted her to call-off the marriage. A relative also alleged that the groom was unable to stand still because of being under the influence. He added that the groom was also unable to perform the rituals properly. Agitated, the bride walked away.
Though the two families tried to convince the bride into agreeing to the marriage, she stayed resolute on her decision. The villagers did not let the groom return till he gave all the dowry back.
In a similar incident, another groom showed up drunk to his wedding along with his father. The incident took place in Rae Bareli which is situated in Uttar Pradesh. The bride called-off the marriage after the father-son duo misbehaved at the ceremony.
The money that the family of the bride had spent in the arrangements was returned to them and a legal document stating that the two families did not want any legal actions to be taken was also signed between the two parties.
