From Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to M.S Dhoni : The Untold Story Indian filmmakers seems busy producing inspiring biopics on sports persons. Bollywood is going gaga about biopics and now Ronnie Screwvala has come up with the idea of making a biopic on the Tennis sensation Sania Mirza.
Ronnie Screwvala’s production house RSVP has bagged the rights to make a film on ace tennis player Sania Mirza, according to a report in Deccan Chronicle.
“There were a few clauses in the agreement which were discussed in detail. There are clauses like the right to portray real events, use real characters from the life of Sania and also the right to fictionalize the life and events, and the right to add or delete characters from the life of the personality in the film. These were clauses that took a while for Sania to sign but eventually, the deal was sealed and the makers have now issued a public notice regarding the same on Sunday,” a source said.
The biopic will probably be based on her autobiography Ace Against Odds. Though the makers are yet to lock in an actress to play Sania in the biopic.
Earlier, Sania had said in an interview that she would want Parineeti Chopra to play her if ever a biopic is made on her. Because she thinks Parineeti looks like her and also because she thinks that both of them are “blessed in the chest”.
The film-makers think her smile is infectious, just like Sania’s. And with sensible make-up and fashion styling, Parineeti can look a lot like Sania too.
