The Maine Medical Center in Portland, US will soon witness a baby boom after nine nurses of the labour and delivery unit were reported to be pregnant at the same time. The nurses are due for delivery between April and July, reported CNN.
The hospital took to social media to announce the baby boom and also congratulated the to-be mothers.
The hospital even posted a picture of the expecting mothers on social media with the caption, “How’s this for a baby boom? Nine of our nurses (8 of whom are in this photo) are expecting babies between April and July! Congratulations!”
“After each one of us started to say, ‘We’re pregnant,’ I think it was a happier kind of announcement each time, and we’re all there for each other,” nurse Erin Grenier told CNN affiliate WMTW.
The hospital told WMTW the nurses have supported each other since the time they started working in the labour and delivery unit and will continue to do so till they become mothers.
“It is really nice coming to work and seeing other people who are just as pregnant watching their bellies pop and just talking about these experiences that we are going through together,” a nurse told WMTW.
The nurses told WMTW they are glad to experience the pregnancies together and also lauded the hospital’s working system that made things easy for them.
