The first edition of conference on AI & IoT India 2018 observed that by 2020 IoT will set a 15 billion USD market in India whereas AI now itself possess a potential to bring 957 billion US$ here. The conference conducted with the theme of India’s Digital Transformation was held at New Delhi, organised under Bharat exhibitions.
They analysed that the market of IoT is now mainly incorporates industrial automation, primarily in sectors like telecom, healthcare, housing, agriculture and engineering. When the consumer awareness start increasing this situation will change and the IoT will get a high reach.
The present potential headed by AI is capable of boosting the Gross Value Add (GVA) by 1.3% points and can increase the nation’s income by 15 percent by 2035.
“AI has always been there. What has changed with AI in the last two or three years and why there is so much focus on AI? It is because there is so much more data that we are generating and that data is now accessible to all of us. Also, we are now able to handle large-scale data and drive meaningful outcomes out of it.”said Mr. Anil Valluri, President – India and SAARC, NetApp during sharing his thoughts and future scope in the field of AI and IoT.
In India now many of the pubic service schemes including the NITI ayog mission is planning to create a AI platform for easy user interference ,where AI for agriculture and healthcare are on top demand the innovation club of NITI ayog is now busy with forming strategies to implement.
The practical application of AI, especially on how it will be visibly beneficial for common people is the key search of many governmental AI research platforms.
“As data is primary resource, How to leverage this data is one of the pressing questions in front of us. How do we organise the data, clean up the data and how to prepare the data for use in the context of AI? How do we liberate the data from the silos that it resides today?”Mr. Ajay Prakash Sawhney, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & IT pointed out the effort the government and person’s to do on protecting the private date and interpreting the same.
