Minister for cultural affairs and cinema AK Balan has said that controversies related to Association of Malayalam Movie Artiste (AMMA) will be settled soon. He was addressing the media after meeting AMMA president and actor Mohanlal at the minister’s official residence here.
“Mohanlal has promised me that the disputes in AMMA will be settled soon,” he told media.
Mohanlal visited the minister after AMMA general body meeting turned controversial following Dileep’s reinstatement into the body and resignation of four actresses.
“Mohanlal informed me that he would not take unilateral decision on the issue. He will hold discussion with the association members after his trip abroad,” said minister.
Meanwhile, he added that Mohanlal did not discuss on Dileep’s reinstatement into the body.
Resignation of four actresses from AMMA in protest against Dileep’s reinstatement into the body sparked controversy. However, Mohanlal as president of the association was also criticised following his press meet over the issue.
