Now people can contact to 9188 100 100 to get the nearest ambulance service. Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Kerala Police jointly implement the ultra-modern trauma care system with the cooperation of Dr. Ramesh Kumar Foundation in order to help the road accident victims.
About 1000 ambulances will be part of the project in the initial phase. If 9188 100 100 is dialed, the call will be connected to the control room at Thiruvananthapuram. The staff on duty in the control room will find the location and other details and hand over the information to the nearest ambulance service.
An exclusive mobile app also will also be developed for this purpose. If the information is given through the app, a notification will be sent to the ambulance driver’s mobile phone. Also the driver will get the route map to the accident spot. The injured person will be admitted to the nearest location. A nodal officer also will be assigned to coordinate the project.
The project will be inaugurated by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday at 2.30 pm. State police chief Loknath Behera and other top officials and office bearers of IMA will attend the programme.
