Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the state on August 27 and 28, according to the IMD.
The isolated rains have been predicted as there is a likelihood of a low pressure forming over the Bay of Bengal near West Bengal coast in the next 48 hours.
While rainfall is expected in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur districts on August 27, rainfall is likely in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts, on August 28.
Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has informed that people need not panic over the rainfall warning.
However, people should be alert. Night-time travel to hilly regions should be avoided as there are chances of the occurrence of landslides.
There is a likelihood of rise in water levels in water bodies.
