Activist Rehana Fathima was finally granted with conditional bail from Kerala High Court on Friday.The activist who has been arrested for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through social media, got the bail with strict instructions regarding not to enter the premises of Pampa police station.
The court also warned her from posting religiously sensitive Facebook posts, which in turn hurt the religious sentiments and wreck the communal harmony.
The court considered her bail plea submitted on December 11, observed that no need to keep her under judicial custody and there is no reason to reject her bail application. However, court rejected the anticipatory bail application submitted by her.
She has been arrested from the office in Kochi on November 27 and was in judicial custody since then.Earlier, she submitted a bail plea at judicial magistrate court in Pathnamthitta but was rejected.
The activist Rehana Fathima created a controversy related to Sabarimala, when she attempted to climb up the Sabarimala Hills along with a Hyderabad based journalist Kavitha in October, after Supreme Court ordinance on right of women to enter Sabarimala to worship the diety Ayyappan dated September 28.
